Ruthie Lazenby joined TURN in July 2025. She looks forward to advocating on behalf of California consumers for affordable and equitable access to clean, safe utility service.

Before joining TURN, Ruthie worked at UCLA Law School’s Emmett Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, where her work focused on decarbonizing the energy sector. Ruthie has experience working on a range of climate justice and economic justice issues, including at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Vermont Law School’s Environmental Justice Clinic.

She received her J.D. from Yale Law School and holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University.
