Broadband Protection
California should not accept BEAD funding without first removing condition 50!
The federal government recently appended “Condition 50” (GCT 50), to California’s Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) program. GCT 50 will roll back hard-fought protections (especially for the most vulnerable), add to our affordability crisis, and put our families at risk. Condition 50 will cost California more than it stands to gain.
California has stood strong in the face of the continued onslaught of corporate accountability and consumer protections rollbacks. We can’t let corporations stand in the way of consumer protections, or getting broadband where it needs to go
