Cassandra Houston
Human Resources Director
Cassandra Houston, MBA, serves as the Chief Human Resources Director for The Utility Reform Network (TURN), bringing more than 20 years of executive leadership experience in human resources, organizational development, workforce strategy, training, and employment law. Throughout her career, she has led strategic human resources initiatives across the nonprofit, healthcare, manufacturing, and education sectors, with a focus on building high-performing, inclusive workplace cultures.
At TURN, Cassandra partners with the Leadership Team to develop and implement strategic human resources initiatives that support organizational effectiveness, talent acquisition, employee engagement, leadership development, diversity, equity, inclusion, and retention. She is committed to creating systems and practices that empower employees and strengthen organizational culture.
Prior to joining TURN, Cassandra served as Director of Human Resources for Covenant Living Communities in Turlock, California, where she led a broad range of human resources functions and strategic initiatives. She has also facilitated leadership and diversity training programs and previously served as an MBA instructor for the University of Phoenix.
In addition to her corporate leadership experience, she is also an international best-selling author of Leading From Within, Leading With a Purpose and author of The Power of Becoming.
Cassandra holds a Master of Business Administration from the New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Faulkner University. She has served on numerous boards and committees, including SkillsUSA-Alabama and Manufacture Alabama.
A passionate advocate for leadership development and mentorship, Cassandra believes that transformational leadership begins with service, authenticity, and purpose.
